Battery A, 30th Infantry Division Photograph

Abstract

This collection consists of a single mounted photograph taken in 1914. It pictures ten individuals in Battery A, part of the 30th "Old Hickory" Division of the United States Army. The back of the photograph includes the names of the individuals along with their home addresses. Handwritten details about the unit's numerical identifiers can also be seen on the back.

Abstract This collection houses a variety of papers documenting 1st Lieutenant Francis T. Boyd's service with the 116th Mobile Ordnance Repair Shop (41st Division) during World War I. This unit was stationed in Illinois, New York, and several locations in France. While the majority of the material is addressed to or written by Boyd, a few special orders were sent to his commanding officer, Captain George D. Sturtevant, or to Privates serving in the unit.
